The Many Ways to Get to Costa Maya

By Cruise

Opened in 2001, Costa Maya is strategically located in Mexico's Western Caribbean, just a few hours from Cancun on the southern Yucatan Peninsula.  The port is visited weekly by all of the international cruise operator, including:

By Land

If you are up for a great adventure...We recommend you take advantage of the scenic Route 180.  Known as one of Mexico's best highway infrastructures, Route 180 takes you from Cancun to Costa Maya in approximately 4 hours; a total of 450 kilometers.

Start by booking your flight to Cancun International Airport (CUN).  Once there, you'll have access to many of the major car rental carriers, including:

Also in Cancun is the region's most important bus line, Autobuses de Oriente (ADO).  It offers daily departures at 7:00 a.m., 9:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. The bus ride to Costa Maya is approximately 4.5 hours long.  For more information about ADO, you may call 1-800-950-0287.

 

By Air

For those looking for a more exclusive and private getaway, a charter flight to Costa Maya may be the alternative.

Costa Maya's neighboring city, Cancun, has the Country's second most important airport.   The following carriers offer domestic or international service to Cancun: Aeromexico, Mexicana, Aerolineas Azteca, Aviacsa, Aerocaribe, American Airlines, Delta, Continental, Northwest, United and British Airways. 

 

Once in Cancun, you may book a private flight to Costa Maya'through AeroCosta.  After a quick one hour trip, you will land in Mahahual, approximately XX minutes away from the Costa Maya Inn hotel and XX minutes from the beach-town of Mahahual.
